What Will Your Investments Be Worth in Five Years?
We invest for the future. How well that works out depends on two things. What will your investments be worth in five years, ten years, or twenty years as valued in dollars? And, what will inflation do to the purchasing power of the US dollar?
How Will Negative Interest Rates Affect Your Investing?
The U.S. Federal Reserve has slashed already-low interest rates to zero. They are taking other measures to preserve credit and pump money back into the system. But, the steady spread of the coronavirus and predictions of 20% unemployment and worse are unsettling markets as investors wonder how far stocks will fall. As the economy contracts we will see the possibility of interest rates going below zero. How will negative interest rates affect your investing?

Best Way to Find Good Stocks
The stock market has been going up for a decade ever since the depths of the Financial Crisis. During that time S&P 500 has more than tripled in value. Many investors who were hurt badly by the stock market crash of 2008 to 2009 have hesitated to reenter the market. And, many who might have invested in stocks are unsure of how to find good stocks and how to avoid losing everything should the market correct or crash again. A valid concern for investors today is not buying overpriced stocks in an aging bull market. Likewise, investors want to find […]

Investors who profited were the ones who put their money in companies that made the best use of better and better technology. Today the “new wave” of technology is artificial intelligence. How can you invest in artificial intelligence? There are not very many companies that are pure AI investments. But, many of the tech […]

Stocks seem to be recovering from the end-of-2018 correction. Is this the start of a new upward trend or are we still in for continued volatility? When you believe that a stock, real estate investment opportunity, or any investment is about to go up in value, how do you choose the right time to buy an investment? Although there are a few seasonal predictors of stock prices, choosing the right time to buy or sell typically has to do with intrinsic value versus current market price. Now that stocks are recovering a bit, what are the factors to watch for?
S&P […]
Is There a False Economy?
All sorts of interesting ideas pop up during a presidential campaign. This year one of the ideas floated by candidate Trump is that the Fed has created a false economy. CNN reports the story.
Now Trump is blaming the Fed for creating a “false economy” with its emphasis on extremely low interest rates.
“They’re keeping rates down because they don’t want everything else to go down,” the Republican presidential nominee told Reuters on Monday.
Trump said the “only thing that is strong is the artificial stock market.”
It’s the latest example of Trump doubting the bull market in stocks and criticizing the Federal Reserve, […]
