Cryptocurrencies have been with us since 2009 when Bitcoin was introduced. A cryptocurrency can be bought a sold via the internet using a decentralized network. It is an efficient way to transfer money and to hold wealth outside of the system of fiat currencies, precious metals, and property. Although Bitcoin was the only cryptocurrency to begin with, by 2020 there are more than 6,000 cryptocurrencies. The value of various cryptocurrencies has gone up substantially over the years and at times has fluctuated widely. It can be hard to get a handle on all of this, how to buy, what to buy, and when to avoid cryptocurrencies completely. Here we present a brief explanation of what you need to know, Buying Cryptocurrencies 101.

See the AI Prompt That Predicted a Recent Price Jump

Buy Cryptocurrency Without Bitcoin

Although Bitcoin is the oldest and best known cryptocurrency, there are many (more than 6,000) different cryptocurrencies. Unfortunately, there have been cryptocurrencies that have appeared and disappeared as their exchanges were hacked or simply mismanaged. Thus most who buy cryptocurrencies stick with the larger and better run exchanges and types. Here are the ten most popular if you would like to buy cryptocurrency without Bitcoin.

Ethereum
Ripple
Litecoin
Tether
Bitcoin Cash
Libra
Monero
EOS
Bitcoin SV
Binance Coin

Each of these alternatives to Bitcoin has its pros and cons but all appear to be safe bets if you want to purchase cryptocurrencies and not have your wealth stolen overnight.

Challenges Facing Cryptocurrency

As cryptocurrencies have become increasingly popular, they have attracted the attention of regulators and law enforcement. Because monetary value is transferred via cryptocurrencies outside of the banking system and normal money transfer channels it has been used to move illegally gotten, intended, or hidden wealth (drug money, funding of terrorists, not paying taxes, etc.). Cryptocurrency exchanges in the USA now need to report to the IRS (IRS Form 8949, Schedule D). The main issue for those holding wealth in cryptocurrencies is security. Too many exchanges have folded, taking millions with them due to hacking or outright theft. And, unlike a US bank account, your money is not insured by anyone! Smart investors tend to stick with the best known and best run exchanges and cryptocurrencies to avoid losses.

Chart of Cryptocurrency Prices

Aside from the ease of transferring money with cryptocurrencies, an attractive feature is the prospect of the value of your Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency going up substantially. Here is a chart of cryptocurrency prices.

Bitcoin price at the far left in 2009 is $1 and the price in August 2020 is more than $12,000. As the chart shows, the cryptocurrency experienced a huge boom and bust from September 2017 to January 2018. It is going up again in response to the uncertainty generated by the current Covid-19 pandemic and its effects on global economies.

Breakout Cryptocurrency

Folks who want to speculate in cryptocurrencies can time their purchases to take advantage of changes in the global economy and specific events that drive fiat currencies down. Or they can look for a specific breakout cryptocurrency, which is typically a new one that gets a lot of attention. Forbes wrote about one particular breakout cryptocurrency earlier this year.

While bitcoin, the world’s original and most valuable cryptocurrency, has risen almost three-fold over the last 12 months, tezos has rallied some 400%, climbing from under $0.40 per tezos token in February 2019 to just over $2 today.

Thus, newness can lead to at least temporary popularity and a surge in price of a new breakout cryptocurrency.

Bullion Cryptocurrency

When the economy suffers and fiat currency values drop, both gold and cryptocurrencies go up. For those who would like to take advantage of this, it is possible to buy a bullion cryptocurrency. In fact, Bullion is the name of a cryptocurrency that is based on gold bullion and not the US dollar. This exchange has been in existence since 2013 and is promoted as an “ideal storage of wealth.” Thus, it is unlike Bitcoin and others which can grow wealth, or lose it, and are promoted as ideal ways to hold and exchange wealth. This bullion cryptocurrency is meant as a long term investment

Buy Cryptocurrency Penny Stocks

The investment community has ongoing concerns about the boom and bust quality of cryptocurrencies and the fact that there is nothing backing the currency. However, they are excited about the blockchain technology that underlies and many buy cryptocurrency penny stocks hoping to get in on the ground floor of big price surge or capitalize on a company’s important position in the technology that drives cryptocurrencies. Examples include Marathon Patent Group (MARA), Riot Blockchain, Inc. (RIOT), MGT Capital Investments, Inc. (MGTI), and DPW Holdings, Inc. (DPW) which are newer companies.

Buying Cryptocurrency for Someone Else

Many investors purchase stocks and other investments for their children or others. Buying cryptocurrency for someone else is typically done by making the purchase yourself and then sending to the other person’s account. Coinbase facilitates these sorts of purchase and transfer operations as do some other exchanges. This can be done as a gift or to start one of your kids out on the road to investing. Because cryptocurrency profits are now taxed in the USA, it may be to your advantage to gift to your children to be used for college or simply to make a wealth transfer far in advance of your death. To make sure that you do this correctly, check with a tax advisor who understands cryptocurrencies.

When you invest your money you want the best profit potential with the least risk. There are stocks in large cap companies where your money is pretty safe but where growth is minimal. And there are penny stock start-ups that offer the prospect in hundred fold growth and better but also very likely to fold, taking your money with them. A sweet spot in investing where risk and growth potential are nicely balanced is when you invest in micro stocks. Micro cap stocks have market capitalizations between fifty and three hundred million dollars. These are not penny stocks in that the stock prices when you invest in micro stocks are similar to those of larger companies. There are simply fewer shares of the stock in question and a lower market capitalization of the company than with large, middle or small cap stocks.

See How 50 AI Prompts Can Boost Your Portfolio’s Returns

Why Invest in Micro Stocks

Companies that invent a market niche tend to do well. Those who dominate that niche become the next Apple, Microsoft or Cisco. Did these folks just invent a cure for Alzheimer’s disease? If so it is time to jump on board. And, can the management continue to innovate as the company grows? A smart and resourceful management team can make all the difference in the world. And, be careful when the inventor of the process that makes the company unique is eased out by business types. Then the reason to invest in micro stocks may have just gone away.

How to Invest in Micro Stocks

You are looking for growth in a micro stock. When you invest in micro stocks you want strong intrinsic value, the expected earnings of the company discounted to current value. And you want a fairly priced stock. A low P/E ratio is a good idea but remember that many new companies see lots of sales before they see profits. A price to earnings ratio of forty to sixty is common for a thriving micro stock. Thus look for cash flow and then profits. And, because a company needs to survive in order for you to profit look for a reasonable cash reserve so that when you invest in micro stocks you do not see them disappear with the first downturn. And you will want to see growth. They may have a great new product but are they selling it and are they expanding their market? Read the financials when you invest in micro stocks and buy into companies that show evidence of expansion. And look at stock trading volume. If the stock has caught the interest of the market it will be trading in decent volume.

How Does the Stock Fit into the Bigger Picture?

Some time back we wrote about how to invest in middle class growth in Latin America. Latin America is gradually developing a strong middle class and the middle class is buying lots of stuff. When you invest in micro stocks that cater to the needs and desires of a growing demographic you are probably going to make money. Find practical investments when you invest in micro stocks. Remember the old saying from the California gold field days, when everyone is digging for gold your best bet is to sell picks and shovels.

In the late 1980’s Japan seemed set to take over the world. The Japanese stock market was the envy of the world and the Nikkei stock index was around 39,000. Today it is less than 10,000. One of the bad stock investments of our time would have been to buy a basket of Japanese stocks twenty-four years ago and hold them. There are several types of bad stock investments. Holding dividend stocks that do not keep up with inflation, falls in the bad stock investments category. Holding on to a stock that has run its course in search of just a little more profit also falls in the bad stocks investments category. Here we look at tactics, strategy, fundamental analysis, and the efficient market to consider good and bad stock investments.

Find the Prompt That Spots Hidden Market Gems

What Goes around Comes Around

This old proverb tells us that what we do one day eventually comes back, often times to haunt us. We too often become victims of our own thoughtlessness. The major psychological drivers in the market are fear and greed. The twin demons lead to more bad stock investments than all other reasons. The best way to avoid falling prey to these bugaboos is to study what you want to invest in. Proceed by degrees. Diversify your investments in such a way as to avoid putting all of our investment capital where one set of factors could bankrupt you. Take the long view of the stock market. Consider the long view when investing in gold. Gold has rallied twice in the last forty years and fallen back twice. Consider practical approaches to investing such as investing in beer. People will always want a drink when the market rallies and when it falls. The time honored beverage has a wide following and is a worldwide source of profit. Think of what makes money in a rising market and what makes money in a recession. Do your homework and do not just rely on tips.

Self-Defeating Strategy

In the late years of the 20th century Microsoft bailed out Apple Computer. Apple went on to invent hand held devices that have hurt the Microsoft PC business. This was a deal of money for patents instead of money for stock but it still falls in the bad stock investments category. Microsoft or Mr. Gates privately, should have required stock options in return for their bailout money. Then they would have prospered on the rise of Apple to the corporation with the highest capitalization in the world. Instead Microsoft was concerned about antitrust activities of the US government and set its competitor on the path to dismantling the Microsoft Empire.

The Efficient Market

It is a true story that a bunch of stock market reporters threw darts at the stock pages one day and tracked the stocks that the darts hit. Their randomly selected stocks outperformed the market. In the book A Random Walk Down Wall Street the authors noted that in the 1960’s and 70’s one could reasonably expect to buy ten large cap stocks and make 12% per year per year. With forty small cap stocks one could expect to make 18% a year. When you are buying and selling stocks look at how the market prices things and avoid bad stock investments.

Download All 50 Prompts in Under a Minute

Business risk is the risk of competition. Effectiveness of management, developing and promoting products, penetrating markets, and doing so in the most cost effective and profitable manner all go into a profitable company. Business risk is also economic risk. Macroeconomic circumstances such as recessions and wars can devastate otherwise thriving businesses. New scientific discoveries or new technologies can likewise create new winners and losers. Diversification helps in managing investment risk. Consumer product companies typically do better during a recession than oil companies. Owning different types of stock in several market sectors will protect you from an isolated market downturn in one sector.

Fundamental analysis of stocks includes a careful look at price to earnings ratios and cash flow ratios. These details will tell you if a stock is overpriced or underpriced. They will tell you how effectively the company is using its cash flow. Fundamental analysis of a stock will tell you if it is a good buy or if its success has caused it to become overpriced. Many companies have their day of rapid expansion and eventually grow to a size that inhibits spectacular growth. They are typically priced in anticipation of future earnings. Managing investment risk in buying stocks has to do with not overpaying for popular stocks on the one hand and finding underpriced stocks on the other. It also has to do with being able to define investment risk.

Investment risk management probably best starts with having a clear idea of what your investment goals are and developing an investment plan consistent with your goals. There are many stocks that have appreciated in value over many years. Long term investing is best served by finding underpriced stocks with good prospects, buying and holding. However, almost all stocks suffer when there is a market crash. If your goal is to make a certain amount of money in a few years you may be disappointed when the economy turns sour just when you want to sell and take profits. Managing investment risk for short term goals is easier with trading options where there is profit in both the rise and fall of stock prices. Knowing what penny stocks to watch for short term gains may be a better idea in a volatile market where you want to keep your gains as cash.

Investment risk management works best when you don’t let everyone else’s mood affect yours. Polls tell us that the American public is very pessimistic about the economy despite the fact that the economy is improving, retails sales are coming back, and manufacturing is picking up. Whether you are investing in oil, investing in gold, or investing in beer companies keep your eye on financials and fundamentals as your guide to managing investment risk.

For the beginning investor with a small amount of capital penny stocks can seem attractive. They wonder how to invest in penny stocks. Before looking at how to invest in penny stocks let’s see what we are talking about. These are stocks that typically sell for less than $5 a share ($1 by some definitions) and, thus, allow the investor to buy a block of shares for less than if buying a 3M for $86.20 a share or Google for $595.47 a share. Penny stocks are often companies that are starting up and have net worth in the millions instead of billions. Because few if any stock analysts follow penny stocks they can be sleepers with a large degree of hidden value. How to invest in stocks, in general, is to know the fundamentals of the stock. This can be difficult with penny stocks. Thus penny stocks can be traps into which the unsuspecting investor might fall.

Access the Exact Prompts Pros Use to Analyze Stocks

A new stock selling in the penny stock category will typically have no track record. Because there is little or no information and opinion available on the stock it’s price will be prone to manipulation. A scam artist can buy shares at 4 cents a piece and manage to float publicity in the business section of a news paper or online. Then, when the price jumps up to maybe 25 cents a share, the scam artist sells and the company resumes its rightful position at 2 cents a share of simply goes out of business. Learning how to invest takes time and patience. There is nothing at all wrong with investing in paper for a period of time to see how your stock picks would have turned out. In doing so one often finds that the 3M’s and Google’s go up in price and many of the penny stocks fall off the face of the earth. How to invest in penny stocks is often not to, with one exception.

The key to successful stock investing is information. How to invest in penny stocks is to find the information that you need. The rap against penny stocks is that information is scarce and sometimes inaccurate. But, what if you know something useful about the company, its products, or its markets? For example, you are a fisherman and you discover a new lure, rod and reel, or fiberglass boat that exceeds expectations and is selling at a very attractive price. You check it out and find that Catch a Fish Company, in your state, makes this product. You drive by their factory and see that they are adding on to their production space. You go to the front office and inquire. It turns out that they are hiring too because they can’t keep up with the demand for their product. You are now a dozen steps ahead of the analysts in New York, Chicago, and elsewhere. You ask about buying their stock and receive a handful of financial reports which are audited by a major accounting firm and show a large bank balance and no debt. You call a stock broker and check out how to buy the stock over the counter before it goes up in price and gets listed on the NYSE. Here in our example you have done your fundamental analysis all in one step. This is an example of how to invest in penny stocks; go out and find the information that you cannot find online or from a broker.

Knowing what penny stocks to watch is a good way to freely and comfortably do business in the stock market. Trading in the stock market by means of purchasing penny stocks is a risky way to invest because of the danger that the corporation offering them might be fraudulent, or that the shares being offered are simply being done so as to dispose those shares and not really for the purpose of doing business.

Copy & Paste These AI Prompts Into Any AI Tool

Penny stocks are common shares that are sold to the public for a very low price. This makes them an attractive opportunity for first time investors and those who just like to play in the stock market. However, it still takes real money to invest in penny stocks. The question now lies as to how the potential investor can know what penny stocks they should watch out for.

Download Penny Stock Prophet Right Now

The first thing that an investor must watch out for is the trends of these shares of stock; when they are at their peak, when the prices increase, and when the process drop. The investor must investigate which company is offering the shares of stock and buy the shares when they are at a low and sell them when they are at a high.

The second thing to do is actually something that the investor must not do, and that is investing too much money. Remember that trends in the stock market change often, even unexpectedly. The investor must make sure that if he plans to buy market stocks, he must only do so with the use of money he can afford to lose.

Investing in the stock market is the easiest legal way to earn quick money. For starters, the best move is to know what penny stocks to watch and when to buy and sell them.

Penny stocks investing is sometimes considered “risky”. These stocks have the potential to make great sums of money in a short period of time. On the other hand, you can lose money rather quickly too. All too often, people invest money into these stocks thinking they are going to get rich overnight. They pick their stocks based on a gut feeling and end up losing money on their investment. Why do these people lose money? Because they aren’t doing the proper research.

Unlock All 50 Prompts for Smarter Investing Decisions

Stock investing software is a great tool to enhance penny stock success. The most important thing in penny stocks investing is research, and these software programs can perform a substantial amount of it. In fact, they can outperform a professional stock analyst ten fold. Stock investing software is a sure way to get ahead of the game.

Which stock investing software you use will determine how profitable you will be. However, keep in mind that no software program can guarantee success. The program is simply making predictions based on the stocks trends and history. Therefore, like all investments, there is the chance of loss. For the most part these programs will greatly increase your chances of success.

If you are currently involved in penny stocks investing, or if you want to get into it, this tool will greatly increase your success rate. If stock investing software cost too much for you I suggest subscribing to a penny stock newsletter. If you don’t have the knowledge to personally research the stock market to find a profitable stock, I recommend using one of these useful resources.

More and more people are interested in investing in the stock market to improve their financial gains. However, there are literally thousands of stocks to invest in the stock market and most people have a tough time picking the best companies. This is especially so for newcomers to the investing world. Many people, especially newbies to the stock market, have started investing in more small-capital, or penny, stocks. There are various penny stocks that are available for people to trade, although the danger is much higher than with the many other typical big-board stocks on the market. If you have also made the decision to invest in penny stocks, you will want to know which ones are the best to invest your money.

See How 50 AI Prompts Can Boost Your Portfolio’s Returns

It is imperative to know before you start trading penny stocks that the top penny stock picks can change quickly from one day to the next. Of course, this means that the volatility of penny stock trading is much higher than usual, but you can use some techniques to find the best penny stocks that are worth the time and effort to invest in the stock market. Rule number 1 is to do your due diligence on any company that you are thinking about buying or selling. This is a good rule to follow when you are making any trade in the stock market. Look for penny stock companies that have good, and preferrably audited, balance sheets (which can sometimes be impossible to locate). Strong cash flow, a decent net income and assets that have been stable for at least three years are all excellent qualities that should begin to calm your ‘is this a scam?’ fears. Research the stock through several different sources. Their own web site is always a first place to start. You should also find information, such as a variety of financial statements, at the Securities and Exchange Commission site. Never invest in any stock that you have not yet researched and analyzed for yourself.

To find good ideas on where to start to invest in the stock market, you can always consult newsletters, online forums, and blogs as well. It is imperative for you to remember that all of the information that you find on these forums, blogs, and newsletters may not be correct. Therefore before you invest in the stock market, you must always do your own due diligence to follow up on the information you find on forums, blogs and newsletters. There are times when you will find accurate information and good leads on these web sites, but you must remember to never make an investment blindly. As with investing in any sort of company in the stock market, you will want to look for chart patterns within the penny companies. Many movements of penny stocks are predictable and you need to be able to recognize these movements and use them to your advantage. This will not be an easy project, of course. Researching stock statements and patterns in the stock market can take weeks or months, but your patience will reward you.

Use These Prompts to Identify Your Next Big Winner

There are many ways to get penny stock leads. For example, searching the internet (blogs and forums), joining a penny stock mailing list or keeping an eye out on the news. The main idea is to build a list of around 5 to 10 quality leads that are worthy of your money.

After you have a list of leads, you’ll want to choose one or two of them. You’ll need to go through your list and discard stocks which do not meet your criteria. This process can be tedious but it will be well worth it in the end.

The criteria to look for includes – company history, business plan, opinions of individuals and experts, financial information, competition, track record of the board of directors, company reports and broker recommendations. Using the variables, you can quickly establish whether a particular stock is worth investing in.

Once your list has been cut down to 1 or 2 stocks, ask for opinions from other people to confirm your selections. It is very important to listen to the views of other investors because, in most cases, they’ll have something valuable to contribute to your research. Perhaps, you missed out a vital piece of information which other investors could highlight for you.

Now that you have 1 or 2 stocks out of your original list of 10, you should feel confident that you’ve done your due diligence and you should be ready to invest. If you use this process every time you’re investing in penny stocks, it should prove to be simple but profitable.

You’ll discover all types of investments available to you in the world of stock market and mutual funds investing, once you enter into it. Even if you have never considered getting involved in stock trading or investing in funds, there are plenty of opportunities that you may never have thought of — opportunities that are available for people who use brokerage services in person and on the Web.

Get the Prompt That Turns News Headlines Into Trading Signals

Buying and selling stock are the most popular investment types for the trading public. Buying stock should be thought of as buying a small piece of the company the stock represents. Even though the average share of stock gives you a minute percentage of ownership in a company, sometimes you feel so strongly about a company that having even the tiniest piece of the pie is worth it. Without a doubt it enables you to get acquainted with products that will maximize their returns.

Mutual funds also enjoy much popularity with the investing public. Although they work quite differently than owning individual stocks, you will see that you own a variety of stocks and bonds when you invest in mutual funds. These investments are for people who are looking for long-term gains in a stable investment vehicle that earns money slowly, but steadily.

Day trading is another way to invest, sparking a great deal of discussion — and not always positive. Some people see day trading as an exciting adventure, but there is a great deal of risk and potential for huge losses when an investor does not make sure to learn all of the ins and outs of day trading. Day trading is not investing in the classic sense — it is more like making minute-by-minute transactions hoping to make huge, fast profits. Most people see their investments as a long-term relationships, while day traders see them as one-night stands.

Penny stock trading is yet another risky way to invest money, but millions of people make and lose a great deal of money here. A number of the successful corporations you see on the big boards actually started out as penny stocks; and they often find themselves there again when their success dwindles. Fraud is a huge problem in the market for penny stocks so you need to be extra vigilant if you choose to invest in this risky market.

When you invest in bonds, you are basically lending money to the organization that you are bonding with, and they will repay the loan on a specific date. There is some element of risk, although less than the risk associated with other types of investing. People either swarm to bonds or they would not touch them with a ten foot pole. My personal choice is to deal in bonds as part of a mutual fund. Use your discretion if you decide to invest in bonds.

As it is clear, there are many choices for interested parties. You just need to find the right investment types to suit your financial goals.
